If you have you been delaying much needed dental treatment because you suffer with dental anxiety, you are not alone. If you are someone who perspires just thinking about sitting in a dentist chair, don’t worry, we truly understand!

At Palm Court Dental, we recognize that dental anxiety and dental phobia affect many patients. That is why Dr. Neal Vavra and our team are happy to provide sedation dentistry for our patients in Fontana, California, and neighboring communities who struggle with dental anxiety.

The next time you come in for a procedure, you will find comfort in any one of the following sedation options for your next dental procedure:

Nitrous Oxide

The dental community began using nitrous oxide in the 1860’s to calm anxious patients. This colorless gas is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through the nose by breathing normally. You will be able to hear and respond to questions and instructions during your procedure. Simply sit back, relax, and breathe comfortably through your nose while we work on your smile.

Oral Sedation

With oral sedation, we simply prescribe you a pill to take an hour before your upcoming visit, and depending on the dosage, it can range from minimal to moderate sedation. This sedation dentistry will make you drowsy and you will still be awake, although some people become groggy enough from the moderate level and can nod off during the procedure. You will, however, be easily awakened with a gentle shake.

IV Sedation

With IV sedation, we administer the medication through your veins. This type of sedation works quickly, and allows us to control the level of sedation which makes you stay comfortable and pain-free. While IV sedation allows you to remain conscious, you may feel so relaxed that you fall asleep during your treatment. It is also possible that you may not remember the details of your procedure, even though you are awake.

We are confident that you will have your best dental experience yet if you utilize one of our sedation dentistry options during your next procedure. Dr. Neal Vavra and our Palm Court Dental team in Mesa, Arizona, are committed to your comfort and well-being during your time with us. So don’t put off a needed treatment for one moment longer; schedule your next visit with us at 909-829-3994 and restore your smile confidence!
